For more than 45 years, MICOR has been established in the field of special plant engineering, making it the oldest company specializing in short-wave infrared heat for industrial processes. From the very beginning, we have provided customized solutions for individual heating and drying processes using short-wave infrared radiation, helping our customers worldwide to accelerate their production processes, reduce costs and optimize the quality of their end products.

Rather than relying on off-the-shelf products, our team designs, engineers and manufactures custom infrared systems precisely tailored to the application and purpose.

Not all infrared is the same

We at MICOR, originally Hoechst AG, have always advertised with the slogan "Not all infrared is the same". A technological development that began in the late 1960s at Messer Griesheim, a subsidiary of the former Hoechst AG, and has been consistently developed for many industrial sectors to this day.

The so-called bright spotlight systems have increased from a service life of 50 hours at that time to more than 30,000 hours today and have been made available for industrial use. Many worldwide patents testify to this long period of research and development from which today's users benefit.

The right wavelength: IR drying with *NIR technology

All our IR emitters work with shortwave infrared radiation that directly penetrates the product and generates heat from within, without any loss of energy. Our special MICOR *NIR technology is characterized by its ability to be switched on and off within seconds without any preheating or cooling times. All our IR emitters are based on this radiation technology.
