Targeted infrared heat for high quality textile products

Infrared heat in the textile industry
Infrared heat for drying textiles

Heating and drying play a crucial role in the manufacturing and processing of textiles. Whether for coating, smoothing, fusing or embossing, high quality textiles require high quality drying standards.

Our infrared solutions are tailored to your specific needs and ensure that your fabrics, yarns, tapes and webs are dried gently and efficiently. Shortwave infrared radiation penetrates directly into the coating, providing consistent heating and drying without energy loss. In this way, we can optimize your textile processing operations and improve the quality of the finished textiles - while increasing speed and reducing costs.

The design and power of all our infrared solutions are precisely tailored to your fabric processing process, the specific production step, the type of fabric and its specific characteristics. With non-contact infrared heat generated in seconds, your textiles can be perfectly heated, smoothed, fused or even embossed.

MICOR represents 45 years of market and technology experience. Our products are continuously refined and utilize our unique MICOR *NIR technology, which features instant on/off capability, eliminating the need for preheating or cooling times. Our products are ATEX certified and comply with EU regulations.

Success stories from the textile industry

Our infrared systems are specifically tailored to your process, the materials used, and the desired end product, and can be used either as an additional heating solution or as a stand-alone system.

Preheating textiles for coating

Problem: A textile tape being sprayed with a polyurethane coating is experiencing adhesion problems. These problems occur when the fabric is too cold and does not bond properly to the coating. To prevent this, the tape must be preheated prior to application. Previously, a medium wave infrared emitter was used for this purpose, but this process is now being optimized with a shortwave MICOR *NIR system.

Result: Three MICOR *KIR LP790 tube emitters, each with a power of 3 kW, were used to heat the material to 80°C. This ensures that the entire tape is heated without damaging the thermoplastic precoating, which must not be heated above 130°C. With the MICOR system, the desired temperature was reached faster, the heating time was reduced by one third and the energy consumption was reduced by 55%.
